LEFFEST Lisbon & Sintra Film Festival
Committed to a selection delivering the best of contemporary film production, this year’s edition of LEFFEST’s program will transcend the limits of cinema by bridging it with other arts and disciplines. As always, the audience may expect varied activities, the presence of important figures in the fields of art and culture, as well as the creation of a debate platform, translating the interdisciplinary engagement which has become the event’s trademark.
From the beginning, LEFFEST has hosted big names such as Francis F. Coppola, David Lynch, Bernardo Bertolucci, Agnès Varda, Emir Kusturika, James Gray, Lucrecia Martel, Wim Wenders, David Cronenberg, Nan Goldin, Pedro Almodóvar, Wes Anderson, Jim Jarmusch, Nanni Moretti, Werner Schroeter, Léos Carax, Abel Ferrara, Piotr Anderszewski, Laurie Anderson, David Byrne, Teresa Villaverde, Isabelle Huppert, Don DeLillo, John Berger, Peter Handke, Wagner Moura, Maria João Pires, Fanny Ardant, Robert Pattinson, Monica Bellucci, Catherine Deneuve, John Malkovich, Alice Rohrwacher, Willem Dafoe, among many others.
The 2026 edition marks LEFFEST’s 19th year, running from 6 to 15 November, once again spanning venues in Lisbon; the festival’s history is also rooted in Sintra, dating back to its early years as the Lisbon & Estoril Film Festival.

LEFFEST runs across venues in both Lisbon and Sintra, so a private driver makes moving between screenings simple.
